September in First Class
September in First Class
As you will see from our photos, we have had a very busy and productive first month in First Class.
In S.P.H.E., we have been learning to name our feelings, express ourselves, and build friendships.
In Maths, we have been working on teen numbers, addition, and mental strategies. We are now exploring 2D shapes, as you’ll see from some of our photos.
During P.E., we have been enjoying athletics and making great strides! We especially enjoyed our 'snail races' where we worked on our balance and had a lot of fun.
As part of our Art, we have been experimenting with different print-making techniques, which has involved lots of creativity and fun. This week, we will be creating Autumn prints.
As Gaeilge, we worked on the theme of Mé Féin and practised asking and answering some key questions about ourselves. We particularly enjoyed our songs and games.
During S.E.S.E., we focused on the theme of “myself and my school.” We especially enjoyed studying aerial photographs of our local area and even drew our own aerial views of our school and our dream school garden.
Our literacy lessons were very busy and we have been working on our sounds, spellings and doing lots of reading and writing. We are also very fortunate to have started literacy Stations with Mrs. O'Hara.
Enjoy a brief snapshot of our month below!
