This year's Cross Country Championship was in Rathcormack on Sat 27th Sept.
A full squad from Scoil Asicus took to the course in pleasant conditions. All children who compete in Cross Country deserve great credit because there is nothing easy about it - no one can run 1 step of it for you and it is a tough, grueling experience whether you're at the front or back of the field.
Our athletes did exceptionally well with 3rd/4th boys team winning gold and 3rd/4th girls team claiming silver. Andrew and Fiadh each won gold as the first finishers in their 3rd/4th race.
In the senior competition our 5th/6th boys placed 2nd while the 5th/6th girls team took the gold medal.
Results like these are rare and are testimony to the children and their committed coach Mrs Joyce.
