Connacht Cross Country Success
20th Oct 2025
Last Saturday, four teams from Strandhill NS competed in the Connacht Cross Country Final in Loughrea in County Galway. It was a great day for the school as we were the only school from County Sligo to have a team competing in each of the four categories.
Well done to all our teams who gave it their all and ran so well. Our Junior Girls' team came third, winning the bronze medal and our Senior Boys' secured the silver medal. A special mention to Andrew Hall who finished in 2nd place out of 126 runners and to Fiadh Brett who finished 4th out of 119 runners.
We are so proud of them all of runners. It was an amazing achievement.
None of this would be possible without Mrs Joyce who has been training the children for the last two months. Thank you so much for all you do and we are so looking forward to continuing to "Run for Fun" on Wednesdays!
