Vision Statement

9th Apr 2024

“Scoil Asicus Naofa is a primary school with a Catholic Ethos.

 Our vision is for

-          a safe, nurturing place, where everyone is listened to and everyone is supported to learn.

-          a place to reach your full potential as a human being, having fun along the way and making a contribution to the wider community.”

This vision statement was drafted by staff at a Whole-School Planning Day on 29th August 2023. It was brought to the BOM for review on 18th September 2023 and brought before the AGM of the Parents Association on 27th Sept 2023. Parental input was canvassed in January 2024.

Rationale.

The statement affirms the ethos of this school as being Catholic in nature.

It establishes the first priority for the school as being to protect and keep safe the members of its community.

The next priority is to create a positive, encouraging atmosphere in our school where mistakes are allowed and support is given to us as we need it.

We view these two things as being pre-conditions for our teaching and learning. This we do in a respectful partnership between staff, children and their families who support them.

The goal of this education is to allow each child to reach their potential in the broadest sense as a human being with great capacity to learn, wonder, love, create and express themselves through the multiple intelligences they are imbued with. We also intend staff to develop through their work here and experience an evolving and fulfilling career.

Finally, we wish this learning and development to be not just about our own individual gain but about giving of our talents to the school community, the local community and the global family. We have many examples of this in our school and around Strandhill where people volunteer to help improve our school and village.
